Concept Reference
Nesom, G.L. 2013. Two new species of Erythranthe sect. Mimulosma (Phrymaceae) from California. Phytoneuron 43:1-10.
Taxonomic Comments
The species was originally described using the epithet spelling 'taylori' however, according to the International Code of Plant Nomenclature (Melbourne Code, McNeill et al. 2011), it should end with two "i"s (K. Lazar, pers. comm.). According to Nesom (2013) collections of Erythranthe taylorii have been identified as Mimulus pulsiferae (by Taylor, though he recognized that they were not typical) and M. alsinoides; Nesom describes the species as distinct based on differences in leaf blades, calyces, and corollas.
