Rank Reasons
Endemic to one California county, this species has eleven presumed extant occurrences, most known from references between 1926 and the 1960's. More current surveys are needed to update CNDDB's information and to map the species more accurately. Only one occurrence has population size information with 100 plants. No threats are known; no protected occurrences are known.
Range Extent Comments
California endemic from Mono county, in the northern White Mountains (California Department of Fish and Game, 1997; Hickman, 1993). Range extent is estimated to be about 150 sq. mi.
Occurrences Comments
Eleven presumed extant populations of unknown condition; one is from 1926, two from the 1980's and the rest from the 1950-60's (California Department of Fish and Game, 1997).
