Rainiera stricta has been reported to be at scattered sites in the Cascades from Mount Rainier to southern Oregon, occurring in meadows and on open slopes at high to middle elevations. Included on the Watch list of the Washington Natural Heritage Program (1997).
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Biek (1999) reports this species to occur in open woods, on dryish slopes, and in meadows in Mount Rainier National Park. Most books mention meadows and some mention moist slopes (e.g., Hitchcock and Cronquist 1974).
