Endemic to western North America, Porella bolanderi was known, as of 1983, from nineteen counties in California and one county each in Oregon and Utah. The liverwort grows on rocks and the bark of living trees, occurring frequently with Porella navicularis.
Range Extent Comments
Wasatch Mountains of Utah (Flowers 1945). Also occurs in San Diego County, California (Stark and Whittemore 1992). Endemic to western North America, California (19 counties), Oregon (1 county), Utah (1 county) (Hong 1983).
