Taxonomic Comments
There is anecdotal geographic justification for separating this species into Oreohelix subrudis limitaris (likely the same as Oreohelix subrudis apiarium) and Oreohelix subrudis subrudis.

In Alberta, it occurs only in Waterton Lakes and in the Cypress Hills (Lepitzki, 2001).
