Rank Reasons
Aspidotis carlotta-halliae is an endemic fern to California and known from Alameda, Monterey, Marin, San Benito, and San Luis Obispo counties (CNPS 2001). A. carlotta-halliae is distributed widely enough in California and occurs in sufficient numbers such that the potential for extinction at this time is low (CNPS 2001). A. carlotta-halliae is, however, considered fairly endangered (CNPS 2001). This fern species is found in chaparral, cismontane woodland on serpentine soils (CNPS 2001) and specifically, in crevices or on rock outcrops (Hickman 1993).
Threat Impact Comments
The California Native Plant Society considers this species æfairly endangeredÆ (CNPS 2001).
