Endemic to the Greenhorn Mountains of the southern Sierra Nevada in California in Kern and Tulare counties. Locally abundant in Sequioa National Forest. About 24 occurrences are known. Threats include logging, development of ski resort, roads and fuelbreaks, but none of these are considered severe at this time.

There are 24 mapped occurrences (no backlog) (CNDDB 2016). 20 need rechecking, but are probably still extant.
Threat Impact Comments
Threats include logging, roads, grazing, ski area, wood cutting, fire-related issues (fuel breaks, too hot/too frequent, etc) (CNDDB 2016).
