Taxonomic Comments
LeBlond (2016) publishes the new combination Dichanthelium malacon. Panicum malacon was included in Dichanthelium ovale var. ovale by Kartesz (1994, 1999). "Although Dichanthelium malacon possesses distinctive characters, it has features characteristic of multiple sections of the genus. This has led to confusion regarding its placement in synonymy, and no doubt to the failure to recognize it as a distinct taxon" (LeBlond 2016).
