Rank Reasons
This species is limited in range (mostly in two counties in California with one peripheral population in Oregon) and limited in abundance, but also has limited threats. It is possible that it is targeted by collectors, as many lilies are.
Range Extent Comments
Predominantly grows in northern California, Del Norte and Humboldt Counties, with one occurrence in adjacent Oregon, Curry County.
Occurrences Comments
In Oregon, it is known from one occurrence; California Natural Diversity Database does not computer-track this species estimates it's pop number at approx. 21-80 occurrences.
Threat Impact Comments
California notes that the species is not threatened although all lilies appear to be targeted by collectors. This species grows well from seed and does well in cultivation. It increases in clear-cuts and is not affected by spraying (Jimmerson, pers. comm. to S. Vrilakas, 1999).
