Taxonomic Comments
As treated by Kartesz (1994), Dudleya pulverulenta is a species known only from California and Baja California; the plants from Arizona, California, Nevada, Sonora, and Utah sometimes classified as D. pulverulenta var. arizonica are treated by Kartesz (1994) as a distinct species, Dudleya arizonica. The treatment in Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2009) is consistent with Kartesz (1994), also treating D. arizonica, and D. pulverulenta as distinct species. In contrast, Kartesz (1999) combined these taxa, treating them as subspecies of a broader D. pulverulenta.
