Taxonomic Comments
In Munz's (1959) treatment of Dudleya virens, this species included Stylophyllum insulare and S. hassei, which are treated as subspecies of D. virens in Kartesz (1999). Kartesz (1994) and the Jepson Manual (1993) treat D. hassei as a species, distinct from D. virens. The Jepson Manual does not appear to address Stylophyllum insulare.
