Rank Reasons
A regional endemic of Wyoming and Colorado. Locally common. Threats include development, range improvements and livestock grazing, and off-road vehicle use.
Range Extent Comments
Eriogonum exilifolium is a regional endemic of south-central Wyoming (Albany and Carbon counties) and adjacent north-central Colorado (Grand, Jackson, and Larimer counties) (Flora of North America Editorial Committee 2005).
Occurrences Comments
There are approximately 13 extant occurrences in Wyoming, and 11 in Colorado (NatureServe Network Database as of October 2018).
Threat Impact Comments
"Threats are relatively low" (Fertig 2000). In order of decreasing priority, threats include "residential and commercial development, range improvements (modifications to rangeland intended to improve forage yield for livestock), off-road vehicle use, other recreational uses, grazing, energy development, reservoir creation, right-of-way management, coal mining, exotic species invasion, effects of small population size, disease, declining pollinators, fire, global climate change, and pollution" (Anderson 2006).
