Taxonomic CommentsThis record is for the narrow treatment of Eriogonum prociduum, following Grady and Reveal (2011) which excludes var. mystrium as a variety of E. crosbyae. Kartesz (1994) recognized E. prociduum before Reveal (2004) described and in FNA (2005) recognized var. mystrium as a variety of it and may have recognized those specimens as part of a broader E. prociduum, but since that is not clearly documented (and Reveal (2004) indicates confusion over identification), this record assumes the narrow treatment. A record was never created in this system for the broader treatment.

Number of Occurrences21 - 80
Rank ReasonsEriogonum prociduum is endemic to the vicinity of the common state boundaries of Oregon, California, and Nevada. Threats exist from off-road vehicle use, recreational developments, and mining. Although it is locally abundant, the species appears to have strict edaphic requirements, and so would be unable to adapt to a new location should its present habitats be destroyed.
Range Extent CommentsModoc and Lassen Counties in California, Lake County, Oregon and Modoc County, Nevada. Very specific habitat requirements makes range expansion doubtful.
Occurrences Comments11 occurrences in California, 13 occurrences in Oregon and 1 in Nevada (Kaye 1990).
Threat Impact CommentsPotential threats include recreation, trampling, mining and grazing.
