Rank Reasons
Erythranthe suksdorfii has a wide range in western North America and is estimated to have over 300 occurrences. Threats include development, invasive plants, grazing, and hydrologic alteration. It is an an annual plant with habitat in vernal pools.
Range Extent Comments
Erythranthe suksdorfii is known from British Columbia, Washington, east to Montana south to California and New Mexico (Flora of North America Editorial Comittee 2019). Range extent was estimated using herbarium specimens and NatureServe Network occurrence data collected between 1992 and 2023 (GBIF 2023, iNaturalist 2023, NatureServe 2023).
Occurrences Comments
By applying a 1 km separation distance to herbarium specimens, photo-based observations, and NatureServe Network occurrence data documented between 1992 and 2023, it is estimated that there are over 300 occurrences rangewide (GBIF 2023, iNaturalist 2023, NatureServe 2023).
Threat Impact Comments
Threats in Washington state include development, invasive plants, grazing, and hydrologic alteration (Camp and Gamon 2011, NatureServe 2023). Threats are not documented in most parts of the range of this species.
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Erythranthe suksdorfii is found in moist, open areas, with clay to loamy soils, in valleys and foothills, to moderate or occasionally high elevations in the mountains (Camp and Gamon 2011, Flora of North America Editorial Committee 2019). In Washington, Erythranthe suksdorfii occurs in seasonally moist swales, drainages, or vernal pools within sagebrush steppe vegetation (Camp and Gamon 2011).
