Taxonomic Comments
This is the narrow concept of Kalmiopsis leachiana, known from the Siskiyou Mountains in Curry and Josephine counties Oregon, following Meinke and Kaye (2007) and Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2009). As recognized by Kartesz (1999), K. leachiana included both northern (Douglas County, OR) and southern (Curry and Josephine counties, OR) populations. In 2007, Meinke and Kaye proposed to recognize the northern populations as a distinct species, Kalmiopsis fragrans.
