Endemic to Great Basin and limited to limestone, dolomite and igneous ignimbrite outcrops in desert shrub, mountain brush and pinyon-juniper communities. Range restricted to northeastern Nevada and western Utah. Abundance not known.
Range Extent Comments
A Great Basin endemic. Found in Utah (Beaver, Juab, Millard, Salt Lake, Sanpete, Sevier and Tooele Counties (Welsh et al. 1993). Elko and White Pine Counties in Nevada. Incidentally, the only member of its genus in northern Nevada. (Kartesz 1988).
Occurrences Comments
31 sites in western Utah (Albee et al. 1988).
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Limestone, dolomite, and igneous ignimbrite (ash flow tuff) outcrops, in mixed desert shrub, pinyon-juniper, and mountain brush communities at 1280-2075m (Welsh et al. 1993).
