Number of Occurrences21 - 80
Rank Reasons
Regional endemic of north-central Colorado and southeastern Wyoming. This species has a limited distribution in a large habitat. Threats from oil and gas development are anticipated to be increasing.
Range Extent Comments
Regional endemic of north-central Colorado and southeastern Wyoming. In Colorado, known from sagebrush shrublands of Middle and North Park (NatureServe Network Database as of November 2018). In Wyoming, known from the Sierra Madre and North Platte River Valley in Carbon County (Fertig 2000).
Occurrences Comments
In Colorado, known from at least 15-30 occurrences (J. Handwerk, pers. comm., 2018). There are approximately 10 extant occurrences in Wyoming (NatureServe Network Database as of November 2018).
Threat Impact Comments
There are low to moderate levels of threats from energy extraction, grazing, OHV use and invasive species (J. Handwerk, pers. comm., 2018; NatureServe Network Database as of November 2018). There is an anticipated increase in drilling/oil and gas development in a substantial portion of its range (J. Handwerk, pers. comm., 2018). Other threats include collection (Fertig 2000).
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Habitat is rocky, clay-loam soils in sagebrush hills and flats, Artemisia nova or A. tridentata grasslands on montane slopes and terraces (Harrington 1964; Spackman et al. 1997; Fertig 2000).
