S. UT (mainly in the Moenkopi Formation in Washington county), NV, AZ (Coconino and Mohave counties). A Virgin-Colorado watershed endemic.

Salt desert shrub communities, usually on volcanic debris or fine-textured, saline or gypsum soils. 790-1350 m elevation.
