This species occurs at high elevations in the mountains of southern & southcentral Alaska, United States and southwestern Yukon, Canada.
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

This species is a specialist of mobile high alpine screes and exposed ridges, mainly on calcareous or circumneutral substrates (Murray & Elven 2011).

Ecology

In the St. Elias Mountains, Yukon location, this species is generally found above the limits of glacial ice during the last glacial maximum, hence nunatak persistence is suspected (Murray & Elven 2011).
