Taxonomic Comments
Per Mast and Reveal (2007), in moving Dodecatheon dentatum to Primula, Primula latiloba (A. Gray) A.R. Mast & Reveal "replaces D. dentatum Hook., Fl. Bor.-Amer. 2: 119. 1838, non P. dentata Donn ex Roem. & Schult., 1819. The epithet latilobum has priority by virtue of the combination D. latilobum (A. Gray) Elmer ex R. Knuth, Pflanzenr. (Engler) IV, 237 (22): 239. 1905." FNA (vol. 8, 2009) elevates Dodecatheon dentatum ssp. ellisiae and D. dentatum ssp. utahensis to full species, therefore, Kartesz's (1994, 1999) D. dentatum ssp. dentatum is equivalent to D. dentatum as recognized in FNA (2009).
