Taxonomic Comments
This record represents the narrow concept of Pediomelum megalanthum following Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2023) not including P. megalanthum var. epipsilum which is recognized as the distinct species Pediomelum epipsilum. Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2023) includes P. megalanthum var. retrorsum in P. megalanthum, with no infrataxa distinguished. In contrast, Kartesz (1994) recognized P. megalanthum with three varieties: var. epipsilum, var. megalanthum, and var. retrorsum.
