Taxonomic Comments
This record represents the narrow concept of Aquilegia chrysantha, not including A. chaplinei and A. hinckleyana following Flora of North America Editorial Committee (1997). Flora of North America Editorial Committee (1997) recognizes A. chaplinei, A. hinckleyana, and A. chrysantha (including A. chrysantha var. rydbergii) as distinct species. In contrast, Kartesz (1994) recognized A. chrysantha in a broad sense with four varieties: var. chaplinei, var. chrysantha, var. hinckleyana, and var. rydbergii.
