Taxonomic Comments
This concept of Cylindropuntia whipplei excludes C. multigeniculata but includes Cylindropuntia whipplei var. enodis following Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2003), Baker (2016), and Baker et al. (2019). Additionally, Baker et al. (2019) distinguishes subspecies enodis and whipplei within Cylindropuntia whipplei.
