Taxonomic CommentsStrother's treatment in FNA (2006, vol. 21) recognizes Schkuhria multiflora. Baldwin and Wood (2016), attempting to "achieve a taxonomy that reflects evidently monophyletic groups" revise generic boundaries in the Bahia alliance and find the practical solution with this group is "to retain the distinctive Apostates as a genus and to recognize its primarily North American sister group as a separate genus, Picradeniopsis." While they retain Schkuhria as a genus (e.g., S. pinnata), S. multiflora (= Bahia neomexicana) sorts out within the Picradeniopis clade, thus they recognize this as Picradeniopsis multiflora.
