Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the narrow treatment of Sphaeralcea grossulariifolia, excluding S. moorei, as well as S. fumariensis, and S. gierischii as species, as recognized by La Duke in FNA (2015, vol. 6). However, that treatment comments that these species may be included in the variable S. grossulariifolia. Kartesz (1994, 1999) included S. grossulariifolia var. moorei in synonymy of S. grossulariifolia ssp. grossulariifolia and recognized S. grossulariifolia ssp. pedata. The FNA treatment includes S. grossulariifolia ssp. pedata as indistinct from the typical.
