Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the narrow circumscription of Mahonia fremontii, excluding M. haematocarpa and M. higginsiae. Multiple floras recognize these three taxa as distinct (Kartesz 1994, FNA vol. 3, 1997, Baldwin et al. 2013). Kartesz (1999) includes M. higginsiae in M. fremontii.
