Taxonomic CommentsKartesz (1994) places Leptochloa filiformis in L. mucronata. Kartesz (1999) considers L. filiformis a synonym of L. panicea ssp. brachiata and separately recognizes L. panicea ssp. mucronata. Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2003) also recognizes L. panicea ssp. brachiata and L. panicea ssp. mucronata. Peterson et al. (2012) move these to the genus Dinebra as Dinebra panicea ssp. brachiata and Dinebra panicea ssp. mucronata.
