Considered endemic to 5 counties in Utah by Welsh et al. (1993). Although Weber (1987) reports G. spathulata from the Dolores River Valley in southwest Colorado and Kartesz (1995) supports a Colorado range. Favors desert shrub habitat. Abundance unknown.
Range Extent Comments
Found in the following Utah counties (Carbon, Emery, Garfield, Grand, San Juan, Sevier, Uinta and Wayne Counties. Utah endemic (Welsh et al. 1993). Also reported by Weber (1987) in the Dolores River Valley of southwestern Colorado.
Occurrences Comments
39 sites in UT (Albee et al. 1988). Relatively common.
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Desert steppe and rim rock (Weber 1987). Salt desert shrub and shrubgrass communities at 1220-2320 m. Shadscale, saltbush, desert shrub (Welsh et al. 1993).
