This record represents Townsendia strigosa in the narrow sense, not including T. raptora, following Shultz et al. (2025) . Shultz et al. (2025) describe T. raptora (material of which previously included in T. strigosa var. prolixa) as distinct from T. strigosa and do not recognize varieties in T. strigosa.
