Taxonomic Comments
This is the record for Draba incerta in the broad sense, including D. peasei, following Kartesz 1994 and Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2010). Kartesz 1994 and Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2010) do not recognize varieties in Draba incerta. In contrast, Kartesz 1999 recognized Draba incerta var. incerta and Draba incerta var. peasei.

Rank Reasons
Draba incerta is a wide-ranging perennial herb occurring in western North America from Alaska and Yukon south to Nevada and Colorado. Threats include grazing, mining, succession, recreational activities, and invasive species. With a large range extent and number of occurrences, abundant habitat, broad habitat preferences, and no obvious intrinsic vulnerabilities, this species is considered secure.
Range Extent Comments
Draba incerta occurs in western North America from Alaska and Yukon south to Nevada and Colorado (FNA 2010). Range extent was estimated to be over 3.7 million square kilometers using herbarium specimens, photo-based observations, and NatureServe Network occurrence data documented between 1983 and 2024 (GBIF 2024, iNaturalist 2024, NatureServe 2024, SEINet 2024).
Occurrences Comments
By applying a 1 km separation distance to herbarium specimens, photo-based observations, and NatureServe Network occurrence data documented between 1983 and 2024, it is estimated that there are over 150 occurrences rangewide (GBIF 2024, iNaturalist 2024, NatureServe 2024, SEINet 2024).
Threat Impact Comments
Although threats are not widely documented, this species is threatened by grazing, mining, succession, recreational activities, invasive species, and other threats in some places, though there is insufficient data, including anecdotal accounts, to understand scope and severity of threats for this species.
