Rank Reasons
Erigeron philadelphicus is native to North America and occurs throughout the United States and Canada in a variety of habitats, often in areas with considerable disturbance. It is introduced in Europe and Asia. It is common over large areas of its geographic range. No significant rangewide threats or declines are known.
Range Extent Comments
Erigeron philadelphicus is native to North America and occurs throughout the United States and Canada. It is introduced in Europe and Asia (FNA 2006b). There are two varieties with more restricted ranges, Erigeron philadelphicus var. glaber is only found in British Columbia in Canada and Erigeron philadelphicus var. provancheri is found in Canada in Ontario and Quebec and the northeastern United States in New York and Vermont.
Occurrences Comments
It was estimated that there are over 3,000 occurrences in North America, based on the application of a 1 km separation distance to herbarium records and research grade photo based observations (GBIF 2022, iNaturalist 2022).
Threat Impact Comments
Although threats are not assessed rangewide, this species thrives in highly disturbed areas and occurs in a variety of habitats.
