Diagnostic Characteristics

This species could be confused with LIGUSTICUM TENUIFOLIUM or LOMATIUM DISSECTUM, both of which have highly dissected leaves; however, the former has leaves that are generally less than 10 cm wide, and the latter has yellow flowers. Mature fruit is needed for positive identification.
