This record represents the broad concept of Carex hassei, including C. saliniformis, as recognized by Kartesz (1994) and FNA (2002, vol. 23). In contrast, Zika et al. (2015) provisionally accept C. saliniformis as "weakly separated from Carex hassei; study needed."
