Rank Reasons
Agrimonia striata is a wide ranging perennial herb occurring across much of the United States, Canada, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and Mexico. With a large range extent, over 600 occurrences, abundant habitat, and no obvious intrinsic vulnerabilities, this species is considered secure.
Range Extent Comments
Agrimonia striata is a wide ranging species occurring across much of the United States, Canada, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and Mexico. It is absent from the northern reaches of Canada, and largely from the southeastern and west coasts of the United States, but present throughout elsewhere. The Flora of North America (2014) includes Mexico in the distribution, but Villaseñor (2016) does not; there are several herbarium records collected after 2014 from Durango and Sonora. Range extent was estimated using herbarium specimens and photo-based observation data collected between 1992 and 2023 (GBIF 2023, iNaturalist 2023, SEINet 2023).
Occurrences Comments
By applying a 1 km separation distance to herbarium records and photo-based observations documented between 1992 and 2023, it is estimated that there are over 600 occurrences rangewide (GBIF 2023, iNaturalist 2023, SEINet 2023).
Threat Impact Comments
Threats are not assessed due to lack of documentation. Agrimonia striata is potentially threatened by development, road maintenance, invasive species, and other threats in some places. Their overall impact is likely negligible given species' broad range, large number of occurrences, tolerance of light disturbance, and affinity for typically abundant habitats, as well as no known intrinsic vulnerabilities.
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

This species is found in rich deciduous or mixed deciduous woods, floodplains, thickets, edges, fields, and open spaces from sea level to 3,700 m elevation (FNA 2014, Weakley and Southeastern Flora Team 2023).
