Habitat

This species grows in clay or sandy, seleniferous fine-textured soils, on stabilized dunes, in playas and saline lake bottoms, in warm and salt desert shrub, blackbrush, mixed desert shrub, greasewood, sagebrush-rabbitbrush, sagebrush, and pinyon-juniper communities (FNA 2023).
