Taxonomic CommentsThis record represents the narrow concept of Cirsium scopulorum following Siniscalchi et al. (2023), not including C. culebraensis, C. funkiae, C. hesperium, and C. tukuhnikivatzicum. Siniscalchi et al. (2023), Ackerfield et al. (2023), and Ackerfield et al. (2022) use molecular, morphological, geographical, and historical evidence to sort out the C. eatonii varietal complex taxonomy and recognize twelve species, rather than seven varieties of C. eatonii as FNA (vol. 19, 2006) did.
