Taxonomic Comments
This record is for Draba oligosperma as recognized in FNA (2010, vol. 7), which excludes D. pectinipila as a distinct species that includes D. juniperina Dorn as "indistinguishable from the type collections of the earlier-published D. pectinipila." Kartesz (1994) treated D. pectinipila as distinct, but included D. juniperina in D. oligosperma. Kartesz (1999) included D. pectinipila and D. juniperina in D. oligosperma.

Rank Reasons
Draba oligosperma is known from western and northern North America, from mountainous areas and from tundra in the far north, it occurs in western Canada and western United States, the range extent is estimated to be 5.3 million square kilometers, and there are over 500 occurrences rangewide, including from many National Forests and from BLM lands in the western United States, and from various National Parks in the United States and Canada.
Range Extent Comments
Draba oligosperma is known from western and northern North America, from mountainous areas and from tundra in the far north, it occurs in western Canada (Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Yukon Territory, and Nunavut) and western United States (Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming). Range extent was estimated to be 5.3 million square kilometers using herbarium specimens and photo-based observations documented between 1992 and 2023 (Flora of North America Editorial Committee 2010, GBIF 2023, iNaturalist 2023, SEINet 2023).
Occurrences Comments
Based on herbarium records, and photo-based observations documented between 1992 and 2023, there are over 500 occurrences rangewide (GBIF 2023, iNaturalist 2023, SEINet 2023).
Threat Impact Comments
Draba oligosperma may be threatened by recreation activities in parts of its range, such as in popular alpine areas of Colorado.
Ecology & Habitat

Habitat

Draba oligosperma occurs on rock outcrops, talus, gravel benches, and in the far north in tundra, at 200-3900 m in elevation, but up to 4267 m in Colorado alpine habitat (Ackerfield 2015, Flora of North America Editorial Committee 2010).

Reproduction

Flowering from May to July (Flora of North America Editorial Committee 2010).
