Taxonomic Comments
This record is for a broad treatment of Polygonum polygaloides, including the subspecies confertiflorum, esotericum, kelloggii and polygaloides, as recognized in the FNA (2005, vol. 5) treatment of Costea et al. and Kartesz (1994, 1999). The FNA treatment notes, "Alternatively, P. polygaloides could be recognized in the narrow sense and the three other taxa could be treated as subspecies of a separate P. kelloggii, the earliest available binomial."
