Taxonomic Comments
FNA (vol. 9, 2014) transfers Potentilla hookeriana ssp. chamissonis to P. arenosa ssp. chamissonis, elevates P. hookeriana var. furcata (= P. furcata) to full species, and includes P. hookeriana var. umanakensis (= P. hookeriana ssp. hookeriana var. umanakensis) in P. rubricaulis. Therefore, P. hookeriana var. hookeriana (= P. hookeriana ssp. hookeriana var. hookeriana) sensu Kartesz (1994) is equivalent to FNA's strictly defined P. hookeriana.
