Taxonomic Comments
Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2005) recognizes Rumex pycnanthus (with R. subalpinus as a synonym), Rumex praecox, and Rumex densiflorus each as distinct species. Kartesz (1994, 1999) had recognized Rumex densiflorus with R. praecox and R. pycnanthus as synonyms.
