Taxonomic Comments
FNA (vol. 27, 2007) here includes Andreaea alpestris in A. rupestris, saying it is probably best considered a high elevation form. Anderson et al. (1990) treat them as distinct. FNA (vol. 27) does not recognize infraspecies for Andreaea rupestris.
