Taxonomic Comments
This record is for a broad treatment of Pleopeltis polypodioides, including P. polypodioides var. michauxiana, as recognized by Smith and Tejero-Diez (2014), who include three additional atypical varieties that occur outside the U.S. Weakley et al. (2025) recognize P. polypodioides more narrowly with var. michauxiana distinguished as the species P. michauxiana. Smith and Tejero-Diez (2014) redefine the genus Pleopeltis, and the generic placement of this taxon is in accordance with the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group I (2016).
