Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the narrow treatment of Pentagramma triangularis, including P. triangularis ssp. semipallida and P. triangularis ssp. triangularis, following Schuettpelz et al. (2015). In contrast, Kartesz (1994) recognizes a broad concept of P. triangularis with four subspecies, including P. triangularis ssp. semipallida as distinct.

The circumscription of the genus with six species following Schuettpelz et al. (2015) and the generic placement of this taxon are in accordance with the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group I (2016).
