Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the broader treatment of Abronia elliptica, including A. nana var. harrisii as indistinct, as recognized by Galloway in FNA (vol. 4, 2003). Kartesz (1994, 1999) excluded that taxon and accepted it as A. nana var. harrisii, a Utah endemic. Welsh et al. (2015) include Abronia elliptica in A. fragrans and say plants named A. nana var. harrisii are actually a phase of A. fragrans, but can be regarded as A. fragrans var. harrisii.
