Taxonomic Comments
This record is for a narrow treatment of Mirabilis linearis, excluding M. decipiens as a distinct species and including M. linearis var. subhispida as indistinct, as recognized by Kartesz (1994, 1999). Spellenberg in FNA (vol. 4, 2003) recognizes a broader treatment, including M. decipiens as a variety and recognizing M. linearis var. subhispida.
