Taxonomic Comments
FNA (vol. 19, 2006) elevates Psilocarphus tenellus var. globiferus to full species as P. chilensis, therefore P. tenellus var. tenellus is equivalent to P. tenellus.

Range Extent Comments
Occurs througout California, to British Columbia, Idaho (where extirpated, Kartesz, 1998), south to northwestern Baja California, Mexico; central Chile (Hickman, 1993).
