Taxonomic Comments
Lomatium basalticum is distinguished from L. brunsfeldianum and L. grayi morphologically, ecologically, and genetically (Mansfield et al. 2016). Mansfield et al. (2018) report that Lomatium basalticum was described without knowledge of the type specimens of Leptotaenia filicina M.E. Jones described in 1902 and provide the combination Lomatium filicinum to accommodate the earlier name. Lomatium basalticum and Lomatium filicinum represent the same species.
