Ecology & Habitat

Diagnostic Characteristics

Stems climbing; leaves compound, not conspicuously reticulate beneath, few large veins elevated above the surface. Flowers solitary on a long peduncle. Sepals thick, leathery 15-25mm long.

Habitat

Rich, moist forests and thickets and river banks in the Piedmont and mountains.
