Rank Reasons
Peachleaf Willow (Salix amygdaloides) occurs in North America, in the United States and southern Canada. It occurs in the northern and western United States from Vermont to New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, and in Canada from southern Québec to southern British Columbia. There are estimated to be more than 800 occurrences. Threats include the loss of habitat due to conversion of natural wetlands to agriculture, water management and impoundment with dams.
Range Extent Comments
Peachleaf Willow (Salix amygdaloides) occurs in North America, in the United States and southern Canada. It occurs in the northern and western United States from Vermont to New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, and in Canada from southern Québec to southern British Columbia. Range extent was estimated to be 5.75 million square kilometers using herbarium specimens and photo-based observations documented between 1993 and 2024 (FNA 2010, GBIF 2024, iNaturalist 2024, POWO 2024).
Occurrences Comments
By applying a 1 km separation distance to herbarium records and photo-based observations documented between 1993 and 2024, there are estimated to be more than 800 occurrences of Peachleaf Willow rangewide (GBIF 2024, iNaturalist 2024).
Threat Impact Comments
Threats to Peachleaf Willow include the loss of habitat due to conversion of natural wetlands to agriculture, water management and impoundment with dams.
