Taxonomic Comments
This record is for the broad treatment of Viburnum opulus including V. opulus var. americanum Ait. (which is equivalent to V. opulus ssp. trilobum and V. trilobum according to Weakley et al. (2024)), as recognized in Kartesz (1994, 1999). Weakley et al. (2024) recognize V. trilobum Marshall as a distinct species, native to the U.S., and a narrower treatment of V. opulus which is non-native.
